Your Safety

Safety Policy

Last updated: March 2026

Your safety is the most important thing to us. We have built robust protections into our platform — and we need your help to make it work. Please read this guide carefully, especially if you are new to matrimonial platforms.

🚨

In immediate danger? Call emergency services.

If you are in danger, call 911 (Canada/USA), 999 (UK), or your local emergency number immediately. For non-emergency safety concerns on our platform, email us at info@anandkaaraj.com

How We Protect You

Anand Kaaraj has built several layers of protection for our members:

🔍

Profile review

Every single profile is reviewed by our moderation team before it is made visible to other members. Suspicious profiles are rejected or flagged.
🛡️

Report system

Any member can report a profile with one click. All reports are reviewed within 24 hours by our safety team.
🔒

Privacy controls

Your personal contact details are never shared with other members without your consent. Your email address and phone number are kept private.

Fast response

Serious violations — harassment, fraud, explicit content — are acted upon within hours of being reported.
🚫

Photo screening

Uploaded photos are screened for inappropriate content. Fake photos using stolen identities are identified and removed.
📧

Email verification

All members must verify their email address before their profile is reviewed, reducing fake accounts.

Online Safety Tips

Before meeting someone in person, please take time to get to know them through our platform. Here are our recommendations:

💬

Keep conversations on-platform early on

Use Anand Kaaraj's messaging system before switching to external contact. This protects you and gives us the ability to intervene if something goes wrong.
📹

Video call before meeting in person

Before agreeing to meet someone in person, conduct at least one video call. This confirms they are who they say they are. Refusal to video call is a significant red flag.
🔎

Research who you're talking to

It is perfectly reasonable to search someone's name, verify their profession, or look up their listed place of work before agreeing to meet. Trust your instincts.
🗣️

Tell someone you trust

Always tell a trusted friend or family member who you are meeting, where, and when. Share their profile link with a trusted person before meeting.
💰

Never send money

Under no circumstances should you send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or any form of financial assistance to a person you have met online — regardless of how compelling their story is. This is almost always a scam.
📵

Protect your personal information

Do not share your home address, workplace address, daily routines, or financial information with someone you have not met in person and built significant trust with.

Planning Your First Meeting

If you are meeting a match in person for the first time:

  • Choose a public place — a café, restaurant, or Gurdwara. Never agree to meet at someone's home or a private location for a first meeting.
  • Arrange your own transport — do not accept rides from someone you have just met. Arrange your own way there and back so you can leave independently.
  • Tell a trusted person — share the person's name, profile link, and the meeting location with a trusted family member or friend before you go.
  • Check in — arrange for a friend to call or text you during the meeting as a safety check-in.
  • Trust your instincts — if something feels wrong, leave. You do not owe anyone an explanation for prioritising your safety.
  • Take your time — there is no rush. A genuine person will understand and respect your pace.

Recognising Romance Scams

Romance fraud is unfortunately common on matrimonial platforms globally. Please be aware of the following warning signs:

Warning signs of a romance scam:

  • Very rapid escalation of emotional intensity — declaring love or deep feelings within days or weeks
  • Profile photos that look like professional model shots or that appear on reverse image searches elsewhere
  • Claims of being based overseas (working on an oil rig, in the military, with an NGO, etc.) that prevent in-person meetings
  • Consistent refusal or inability to video call despite extended communication
  • A compelling emergency story that requires financial help (medical crisis, business problem, travel issue)
  • Requests to move communication to WhatsApp or email very quickly
  • Vague or inconsistent personal history when asked questions

If you suspect a scam, stop communication immediately and report the profile. Do not feel embarrassed — scammers are professional manipulators. Report to us at info@anandkaaraj.com and, if money has been transferred, to your local police.

Handling Unwanted Attention or Harassment

You have the right to decline interest from any member without explanation. If someone continues to message you after you have declined or not responded, please:

  • Use the Report button on their profile and select "Harassment or abuse"
  • You do not need to respond or engage with their messages
  • Email us at info@anandkaaraj.com with details if the behaviour is serious or threatening
  • If you receive any threats, preserve the messages and report them to local police

We take harassment seriously and act swiftly on all reports.

Involving Family in Your Search

Many members of our community find it helpful and important to involve parents, siblings, or trusted family members in their search. We encourage this where it feels right for you.

If a family member is creating or managing a profile on your behalf, please ensure:

  • You are fully aware of the profile and its contents
  • You have given your explicit consent for the profile to be active
  • Communication with prospective matches is conducted with your knowledge
  • Ultimately, the decision to proceed with any match is yours

If you are being pressured into using this platform or into a match against your will, please reach out to us confidentially at info@anandkaaraj.com.

Our Commitment to You

We commit to the following as your platform provider:

  • We will review every reported profile within 24 hours
  • We will never sell your personal data to third parties
  • We will respond to safety-related emails within 24 hours
  • We will act swiftly and decisively on verified fraud or harassment
  • We will continuously improve our safety systems based on member feedback and new threats

Safety is not just a policy — it is our responsibility. If you have suggestions on how we can make Anand Kaaraj safer, we genuinely want to hear from you.
